Even as an artist, I can sometimes find the task of selecting the perfect frame, size, and matte color to a challenge. I understand that many Airbnb hosts and homeowners face similar struggles, which can lead to wasted time and money. To assist with this, I have created a service designed to guide you through the process.
For example, if you have a photo of a natural area near your vacation spot that you would like to transform into a piece of art, I can take it into my design studio, enhance it, edit it, and choose the ideal frame finish. I will also provide you with instructions on how best to hang it.
If you've discovered a map or print from another artist that you'd like to use, I can offer my services for any image you provide. Perhaps you have a vision but can't quite picture it, such as wanting three prints of your favorite shells for a beach house or a serene image of woods at night for a cabin. You can share your theme with me, and I can source copyright-free images to create custom prints for your Airbnb.
How It Works: Juliana will reach out to you via Zoom or a phone call to go over your ideas. To get started, share a photo of your wall space, and she will create mock-ups with various frame finishes tailored specifically for you. She will also provide a link for purchasing the frames and prepare the images for you. If you have a budget in mind, she can suggest ready-made frames that you can easily order and insert or provide options for frames that come ready to hang. Frame costs will vary, starting at around $30 for a small DIY print, while a large custom solid wood frame ready to hang will be approximately $250. The choice is entirely up to you! With this service, you will receive all the necessary information and links for purchase. Juliana will share her trusted sources for frames, which she has personally vetted through her experiences of framing and selling her art at various shows in New England. Additionally, she can offer recommendations and sources for high-quality canvas prints, framed canvas prints, and affordable wood poster frames, priced reasonably at $18 each! These options are often hard to come by. After ordering many low-quality frames, she has learned valuable lessons. This service will save you both time and money!
CAPE COD EXAMPLE: The images displayed illustrate a scenario where an Airbnb owner wished to feature shells above the bed in a bedroom. I sourced three copyright-free images and incorporated a backdrop with waterlines in warm sand tones. After retouching the images, I softened their appearance and selected the appropriate sizes and frames for the prints and viola her vision came to life! What can I make for your space?
Maine Example: To achieve a retro feel for the Maine landscape, I adjusted the colors of the image to give it a vintage look. The wall color is The wall color is Santorini by Benjamin Moore so I selected a 2.5" cloud mat and a black frame to complement the furnishings and the colors of the room. The host wanted to highlight a map in the entryway, wall color here is Benjamin Moore Manchester Tan. so I color-adjusted the copyright-free image to appear vintage, faded, and aged, as if it had been stained with tea bags.
New Hampshire Example: The homeowner requests a black and white landscape image for the bedroom and a map for the study area. For the bedroom, I modified the free image to be in black and white and increased the contrast to make it stand out. For the map, I combined a graphic of a stamp with a hand and a mountain with the map and made all the images in a duotone of teal and gray. This created a playful, engaging collage-like effect.
